My 4yr old has LOVED Sportball at his preschool this past year. The coaches are wonderful, and I feel that the games and sports are very age appropriate, and the kids have fun and feel confident AND get energy out! Highly recommend!!

About Sportball Austin
After growing up in Houston, Texas and moving to Austin, my Sportball journey began in 2005 as a young undergraduate student looking for part time work. I was one of the first coaches hired in the US, and immediately fell in love with the way it bridged the gap and inspired children to get involved in athletics. As an avid sports fan who enjoys working with children, I quickly realized the opportunity it provided to achieve my life long dream of business ownership and never looked back, ultimately buying the Austin Franchise in 2012. It has been incredibly rewarding and a dream come true to play and teach the sports that I love, while making such a positive impact in children’s lives. I look forward to continuing to grow Sportball and our amazing team of coaches to soaring new heights!

My 3-year old was in the 3-4s for a soccer/t-ball program, and she had a blast! Coach Autumn was so great with the kids. She learned all the kids’ names and you could tell she had as much fun as they did. The program was at our local park, it’s mostly casual play while teaching kids about the basic parts of the sport. There’s no pressure for kids who are a little shier to participate 100% (my daughter was one of those for the first two classes), and the emphasis is definitely on fun. The time worked out perfectly for us, 10-10:45am on Saturday mornings. We’d been looking for a light activity to give more structure to our weekends, and also something to help my daughter get some wiggles out. And a bonus, Mom & Dad could get a break and just watch 🙂 We’re signed up again for the winter season and can’t wait to start playing again. If you’re thinking about doing this, don’t hesitate!

My kids have been doing Sportball for 3 years now both through the after school program at First Presbyterian Day School and the summer camps offered! We LOVE Sportball. It’s such a great, positive way to not only expose our kids to all sports but also to wonderful, positive coaches who teach them skills, teamwork & confidence through fun games and competitions. Coach Tina is the BEST! We have another little one who will definitely start Sportball once he is big enough as well!

Sportball offers a dynamic and engaging environment for children to develop both physical and social skills. Through a variety of sports activities, it fosters a sense of confidence and competence in kids. The emphasis on teamwork cultivates important interpersonal skills, teaching children how to collaborate and communicate effectively with their peers. Additionally, the playful approach to learning different sports keeps children motivated and eager to participate. Overall, Sportball provides a well-rounded experience that not only promotes physical activity but also instills valuable life lessons in a fun and supportive setting.

This was our first year at school. Our daughter absolutely loved this program at Lake Travis UMC Preschool. Coach JR and the whole team always made it fun and engaging for every age. It was so neat to witness her learning as she would come out each week excitedly telling us what new games they played and new skills they learned. We noticed a remarkable difference in her sportsmanship and turn taking as well. When we first started we thought this was a program connected to the school but eagerly signed up once we heard it wasn’t just after school daycare and was a culmination of multi sport lessons. They’ve been at her preschool for something like over a decade (more?? I’m not sure I just remember it was a really long time) and the staff all sang praises over the program so we tried it.
My favorite memory had to have been during a soccer game for her team at HCI (not through school). They were practicing drills and all of a sudden our girl starts effortlessly busting out skills we had never seen. Stopping the ball with one foot while dribbling, spinning 360 and it made us smile. Not only did she have fun and come home physically tired (parent win) but she was always happy and in a great mood.
If you’re on the fence about joining the sportball program at your school this is your sign to make it happen! All of her friends loved sportball day and we think you will too. Thanks team! We haven’t don’t a summer camp but we’ve heard from some friends they are incredibly fun!
